Gold Prospecting Gear is a Western Australian supplier of prospecting equipment and metal detector accessories, based in Halls Head, WA. We are run by people with real, hands-on field experience across WA’s goldfields — not just a warehouse shifting boxes.
Gold has been part of my life since childhood. I did School of the Air in the NT growing up, and travelled to Zambia as a young child following the Bourke family’s mining life. My father was a metallurgical engineer who ran his own gold mine in Tasmania — so gold, and the rugged life that comes with it, has always been in my blood.
I’ve spent 15+ years gold prospecting, 4WDing and camping across WA, and I know firsthand how tough the Australian outback is on gear. That’s why we carefully source products from around the world that are genuinely durable enough for harsh conditions — not just gear that looks the part.
I also bring 25 years of IT experience to the table. If you run into computer or phone issues out in the field, I can help — and we stock rugged, military-grade laptops, tablets and phones built to handle the goldfields.
Gold has been in our family and blood for a long time — that’s why I’m passionate about helping other gold prospectors get the right gear for the job.

We stock a wide range of gear for gold panning, metal detecting and prospecting, including digging tools, detector chargers, carry bags and harnesses. Every product we list is something we’d genuinely recommend to a mate heading out to the goldfields.
Our goal is simple: help WA prospectors get the right gear, quickly and without the runaround. That means fast, friendly service and free shipping Australia-wide on every order.
